WORKSHOPS & CLASSES

OPS membership boasts not only gifted painters, but excellent teachers and workshop instructors as well.  Visit this page often for updates and new workshop listings.  Classes and workshops are open to any artist wishing to advance their skills to the next level.  You need not be a member of Outdoor Painters Society to attend one of these workshops....but after meeting and painting along with some of our members, we hope you will consider joining this active outdoor painting group. (We paint indoors too!)

If this description doesn't make you want to visit Savannah, nothing will.

Class Description:

This short, half day studio workshop is perfect for all levels of painter and promises to be fun and exciting. Instructions will focus on the fundamentals of painting in watercolor. Students will observe Spencer demonstrate each step of his approach to capturing the subject at hand. Students will be working from a photograph and will have ample time after each step to replicate what the instructor has just shown them.

The workshop will focus on various components and techniques used to apply watercolor paint, i.e. differences in brushes, papers, paint quality, as well as washes, splattering, dropping and pouring, and dry brushing. We will also cover when, where, and how to appropriately use each tool and technique. Anticipate completing one 11x15" watercolor in this class.
