OPS Paint Out

24-25 January 2020

Location:  Ft. Worth Stockyards

Get on your boots, spurs, and Stetson hat.  The Outdoor Painters Society travels to the Ft. Worth Stock Yard, just north of downtown Ft. Worth.  This a great place to paint the “flavor” of the Old West cattle drive.  There is much to paint and enjoy in this part of town; paint historic buildings, watch the Herd cattle drive, get photos of characters in vintage costume, witness a “quick draw” gunfight, and catch a glimpse of the Grapevine Vintage Railroad.

Alternatively, you can paint at the Ft. Worth Stock Show (www.fwssr.com) and in the cultural district west of downtown Ft. Worth. There are good views of the city from the front of the Amon Carter Museum (drop cloths required). Entry and parking fees apply.

If the weather is not cooperative, visit the numerous museums in the Museum District, just west of downtown.  “Renoir: The Body, The Senses” exhibit will be in its final days at the Kimball Museum (closingd January 26th).  Also, the Amon Carter Museum closes "Mythmakers" The Art of Winslow Homer and Frederick Remington on January 24th. The Forth Worth Community Arts Center and The Modern are just steps away.

Meet up in the evening for dinner with the gang. Giddyup and register now for the detailed itinerary.
