Artist's Statement
|
"A painting is made up
of interlocking shapes of color and values that are all relative to
each other. When I'm painting on location, I place emphasis on
seeing the correct values, painting natural feeling colors with
simple shapes, and getting accurate information down quickly.
The object is to have each piece of color correct in relation to the
one that came before.
Each time we approach a
new subject, it will be a different situation and it should be
treated with a fresh outlook and not a much repeated formula.
I want the viewer of my
paintings to feel as though they are sharing a moment in time with
the artist." |

Biography
Bruce Peil was
born and raised in Oklahoma, and now resides in East Texas. He
is a Signature member of the Oil Painters of America, and the
co-founder and signature member of the Outdoor Painters Society. |
