Artist's Statement
"When I'm walking in
the landscape looking for a place to paint, I may notice a
combination of colors or a feeling of light and value, or I may be
stopped by a special touch of detail.
However, it is being out in nature that really touches me
deeply.
It is the sights, sounds, and the feel of it, that touches me
deep inside. At times
it is almost a spiritual thing, unpaintable, but there is a peace
and quietness to my painting that I enjoy when I see them framed and
in the studio or my home.
I hope others feel some of the things I feel while I'm painting and
find that peace and quietness also.
We need to work hard to preserve our natural landscape for
other generations to enjoy.
I have seen a lot destroyed during the last two decades.
It takes each person doing his or her small part to preserve
our national landscape."
